elite2strava is a simple application that takes a csv (Comma Separated Variable Format) file and converts it into a tcx (Garmin Training Centre Format) file.
Tcx files are used by many online sports training and recording services, such as Strava and Training Peaks, to upload and record your sporting activities. Unfortunately due to the large number of different devices available, it is not always possible to upload your data as formats often arent compatible.
Many devices, like Elites My E-Trainer app, support a simple output format called csv which outputs all the data as a text file with the values separated by commas. This is a format that can be loaded into a spreadsheet application like Numbers or Excel. elite2strava reads this simple format and creates the more complicated tcx file for you.
elite2strava emails the data to Strava right from your iPhone or iPad. Just ensure that you send it from the email account you have registered with Strava
elite2strava features include:
•Open a csv file by pressing and holding on a csv file in a received email
•Set start date and time for an activity
•Display in metric or imperial units
•Display calories burned and calories per hour
•Display maximum and average values for Speed, Heart Rate, Power and Cadence
•Email the tcx file directly to Strava
To use elite2strava simply export your training session from Elites My eTrainer. This will send the csv file as an email attachment. Address the email to yourself and send it. In your email open the email you just received from yourself and press and hold the csv file attachment. This will pop up a list of applications that can open the csv file. Select E2S icon and the file will open in elite2strava. Set your start time if you like then press the send to strava button. This will open your email and create an email with the tcx file attached ready to send to strava. Make sure that the email account that is being used to send the email is the one you have registered with Strava. Send the email and in a few minutes you will see your Elite training session in your Strava feed.
